Hashie’s 2nd Birthday + Comedy Fest Melbourne 2017

Our beloved fur baby, Hashie, turns 2 today! To celebrate, we decided to head off to the oh-so-popular Brighton Dog beach. It was a pleasant thirty minutes drive away from the city and the weather was brilliant. The beach had an enclosed area, that was fenced up to prevent dogs escaping.

Hashie loved running around freely on the off-leash beach and it made us so happy to see him dashing around. We also saw so many different types of dogs there – from big goldies and sturdy staffies to elegant greyhounds and tiny dachshunds. If you want to get away from the city (but still not very far) and witness different dogs playing together in a safe environment, this is you go-to beach.

After settling down, Hashie got to taste the delicious mini birthday cupcakes that I made for him in the morning. To be honest, I’m not a very good baker but this recipe is so simple and it requires only three ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. Check it out here!

Play time was over and we are starving, so we did a quick search on Zomato and found this cute little cafe, The Little Ox, just around the street. We had the golden latte (basically, it is a turmeric latte), iced chai latte with ice cream, LOX Roesti and thick-cut chips to share. The food and service were so-so, just your typical suburban cafe spot. What made the time interesting there was the couple who sat at the table next to ours. They were so delighted to see Hashie and wanted to learn more about this breed. The couple also requested to take some shots of Hashie so they can remember him.

After a long day, we went back home to get dinner and some rest. Hashie was pooped by the end of the night, and we took this chance to prepare for our date night at the last day of the comedy festival in Melbourne.

Bought our last minute tickets to see Neel¬†Kolhatkar, ‘the funny guy on YouTube’ as to how he would have introduced himself. We had a splendid time there – so much racist and feminist jokes – definitely not for your serious mates. Bonus: we caught a photo together with the man of the night!
